addieu.... for now!

Dear Readers,
My most sincere apologies for have not posted since June 25th! I am afraid I have been immensely busy as of late and have not had time to post. I am also afraid that, as this is my sophomore year I shall not have any more time this semester. What I am trying to say dear readers is that I shall to take a break from blogging. So with that, addieu!

A photo heavy post about June

Jon Andrew thought that the camera was cool. :)
What happens when Caleb is sitting on my back and I take blind shots.
Miss silly herself.
A day at the water park with the little Thiels.

Organization makes life so happy. 1......

We had a lot of this.

Yesterday Bess, her friend Zina, Zina's siblings and I had a picnic lunch and a day in the Park.
Yeehah!
Zach had an Unfortunate accident.

The Woods were so lovely I just couldn't help but shoot them. *Sigh* I love rows of quiet, green trees.

Blog of the Week

And the blog of the week is........... (drum roll PLEASE!)

This blog is a great encouragement to me. This woman and her husband have adopted 3 boys, named Josiah, Ellis and Aidan, from Asia and have raised them as their own. Then she had an adorable little baby blonde named Bennett. She constantly praises our Savior for his blessings. She even admits her own faults and works on amending them. Not only that but she is as southern as you get!

Please take the time to read this wonderful blog!

Sara Bareilles - Love Song

my solution to this is listen to the song again and again. Then listen to another song. It works!
Hope you enjoy this song!

Happy Mother's Day!

An Ode to Mother's in General and Mine in particular:

I learned about love from you,
Watching your caring ways.
I learned from you the joy of Christ
in your actions everyday.

From you I learned forgiving
Of faults both big and small.
I learned what I know about living
From you, as you gave life your all.

The example you set is still with me
I'd never want any other.
I'm thankful for all that you taught me,
And I'm blessed to call you "Mother."

Dreaming in Polaroid

Dear Faithful Readers, Sorry for the large amount of time between posts.

My sister Beth recently discovered, on one of her Garage Sale-ing trips, an old polaroid instant camera for $2. Awesome huh? We have ordered film and will soon be doing experiments with this wonderful thing called polaroid. Yay! See you all in that faded, grainy, and wonderful world!

Things learned......

Who knew! It is simply amazing what kinda stuff you can learn that you may never use in your daily life! For instance, the formation of an embryo in a plant! Wow! Then we tore apart
a bunch of plants to see:
  1. The venation
  2. The Margin
  3. The Shape
  4. Whether or not the flowers were perfect
  5. If they weren't perfect what reproductive parts they had
  6. and whether the plant needed external fertilization or
  7. self fertilization
It was fun. Then to a class that is also taught the great 'Professor Leah'. Only..... it was extremely boring. Oh well, not all your classes can be perfect, right? :) On the whole though much better than last week! Hope you all have a great week!

BTW the iris at top is a perfect flower that can be self fertilized. :)

soaked through and typing............

Ahhhh spring..... that lovely time of year when birds are chirping, people are out on their front porches and dust just happens to collect on your car. Sigh. One Maroon 2003 Chevy Suburban was needing washing BAD! So Lil' Bro and I went out and gave that baby a thorough cleaning. Anyway so there I was rinsing suds, when all of a sudden I hear a "splush" right next to me and feel tiny water droplets hit my leg. WATER BALLOON FIGHT! Or a water balloon vs. hose fight that is. :) In the end I was soaked but he was more soaked. *grin* The moral of this story is 'never try to drench your big sister if she has a hose'.

Happy Monday to you all!

Spring

So I know first posts are always awkward so this is going to be a regular (though shorter) post. Have you ever noticed that when shoots start popping up, allergies kick in and birds sing more often, you feel very alive? I feel so today. Though it is a little chilly, life seems to be everywhere. Maybe it is just me but hey it is lovely.

Also we have a lovely tree in our backyard with white blossoms all over it. sigh.
